Marcus Sanford works in internet marketing for a Wisconsin manufacturing company. In this role he coordinates social media communications and the redesign of corporate websites. Before coming to Burke in April of this year, Marcus was Marketing Consultant and Partner at Ignite Consulting, a marketing firm in Austin, Texas, where he oversaw communication efforts for over 150 clients including political campaigns, non-profit organizations and local businesses.
In 2006, he was a Founding Board Member of Austin CarShare, the first non-profit car sharing service in the southern United States. An avid bicyclist and supporter of new urbanism, he started Austin On Two Wheels in 2008, which quickly grew to become the most popular cycling blog in the metro area with over 30,000 monthly visitors. Marcus’ past work has earned “Best of Austin” awards from the Austin Chronicle twice: once in 2003 for efforts at community organization Liveable City, and again in 2007 for his work with Austin CarShare.
